Overview:
The Cinnamon Clownfish, also known as the Red and Black Clownfish or Fire Clownfish, is a bold and vibrant addition to reef and fish-only aquariums. Its striking reddish-orange body, accented by black fins and a white stripe behind its eyes, makes it a showstopper. Known for its hardiness and adaptability, this species is ideal for beginners and experienced aquarists.
Habitat and Behavior:
Found in the lagoons and coral reefs of the Western Pacific, Cinnamon Clownfish thrive in tanks with plenty of rockwork and anemones. They form a symbiotic relationship with anemones, but hosting one is not required for their survival in captivity. Though peaceful with many tankmates, they can be territorial, especially toward other clownfish species or in smaller tanks.
Diet:
This omnivorous species enjoys a varied diet that includes high-quality marine pellets, flakes, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and algae-based foods. Regular feedings of marine algae will enhance their coloration and support their immune system.
Care Tips:
Cinnamon Clownfish are hardy and adapt well to different tank setups, but they thrive in reef environments with stable water parameters. Ensure the tank has ample hiding spots to help reduce stress and maintain a peaceful community setting. If keeping multiple clownfish, provide a large enough tank to prevent territorial disputes.
